I provide a custom, boutique experience to all families attending the schools who have chosen Jenny Thai Photography to capture their students.
As a San Diego Family Photographer, I am passionate about redefining the school photography experience. It's not just about getting a school photo, but receiving a personal work of art. By working with a select number of local schools, I'm able to provide more elevated and attentive experience to each child by offering both modern and traditional student portraits. The result is the same level of professionalism, quality, and efficiency, paired with a more personal experience for schools and families.
My goal is simple: capture the true personality of every child. No force smiles or awkward poses—just authentic expressions and natural moments. The result is timeless portraits that feel genuine. Most importantly, I strive to create a fun, relaxed environment where kids can simply be themselves.

What services do you offer?
I completely operate online. Please register with your school before photo day to ensure a smooth deliver process. After photo day, families are linked private, online ordering galleries. From there, parents will have the flexibility to select and purchase the photo(s) they would like printed and/or downloaded.
Are your photos expensive?
Good bye to packages that pressure you to pay more for what you don't need. As a mom of 2 toddlers, I get it... we all just want the high resolution digitals with the ease and flexibility to print and frame after. I also offer a variety of a-la-carte printed products and packages.
You offer BOTH Traditional and Modern student portraits?
Yes! How can we discard the traditional portraits we all grew up with? There's nothing like a fun side by side comparison. And since I'm all set and already there, why not take a fresh modern approach too? I aim to deliver a variety of options to remember this time in school life! This requires a photographer that will give more time and attention to each student and elevate their experience! Each Child will be provided 4-10 proofing images.
What are modern student portraits like?
This is a new and exciting school experience! Its all about simplicity and authenticity. By using a minimalist black or white/cream background, I highlight your child's true personality without any distraction. Minimal props will only be used to bring out their spirit and ease. This approach focuses on the natural expressions and unique character of each student because they can just be themselves.
I let kids be kids. There's no pressure to perform or pose a certain way. I encourage them to relax and just be themselves, whether they’re feeling playful, shy, or anything in between. This relaxed atmosphere helps capture genuine expressions that reflect the individuality of each child, making every portrait timeless and meaningful.
Do you do classroom and staff photos?
Yes, I'll be happy to accommodate each school's unique requests!
What can I do to prepared my child?
Kids feel best when they are comfortable! But avoid having them wear all white or dark blue to not blend into those backdrops colors. Be prepared to have your child photographed from head to shoes. Keep it classic by avoiding clothing with distracting logos or graphics. Keep hair simple and styled. We will be shooting for portraits and outdoors for a classroom photo so be prepared with a light jacket incase!
